Youth Makers Assembly Member

We are recruiting six Youth Makers Assembly Members (aged 16–25) to co-design and co-programme the Made in Thamesmead space.

About the Project

This exciting, new, youth-led project will see young people design and programme a meanwhile-use space in Cygnet Square, Thamesmead. Working with Beyond The Box CIC, Peabody, and Karakusevic Carson Architects, the project will create a vibrant hub for creativity, learning, and community connection..

Through hands-on workshops, mentoring, and collaborative working, you will develop design ideas for the space and curate a programme of events and activities that connect with your peers and wider community.

This is a chance to gain real-life skills in design, placemaking, and event programming, while helping shape a new community landmark in Thamesmead.

The Role: Youth Makers Assembly Member

We are recruiting six Youth Makers Assembly Members (aged 16–25) to co-design and co-programme the Made in Thamesmead space.

Working in collaboration with Beyond the Box, Peabody, Karakusevic Carson Architects, Turkington Martin, Price & Myers and Beyond Carbon, you’ll:

Learn new design and creative skills through workshops and training ● Take part in co-design sessions to shape the look, feel, and function of the meanwhile-use space
Develop ideas for a youth-led programme of events and activities
Connect with your peers to gather insight and share ideas
Help deliver public events and activities in Thamesmead
Gain experience in teamwork, project planning, and community engagement

This role is ideal for young people interested in creativity, design, community, or events — no previous experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to take part.

Aged 16–25 and living in Thamesmead as a priority. We are also accepting applications from candidates living in Greenwich, Bexley or Woolwich.

placemaking

A network of local partners and community organisations

All workshops, planning sessions, and events are paid and form part of your role.
